In the evening The Eagle is a chill bar that people flock to for drinks and easy conversation. However, in the late-night, Eagle Bar is a fun, mixed bar that attracts a hearty after-hours crowd. Just okay…

Auckland doesn’t offer many choices as far as LGBTQ bars are concerned. I found Eagle to be a bit of a clicky locals crowd. It attracts a drunk and late crowd. Don’t be fooled by Eagle name, there’s no leather here. The vapers out back tend to be more approachable.

Not for us

We visited this bar whilst staying over in Auckland in September 2013. Small bar, mixed crowd but not friendly. Preferred other bars on the K'Road.

The local.

Unpretentious, laid back and friendly. This is the place to start and end a good night out.
